About The ConservancyVon King Park Conservancy will be an entity that will function to significantly add, supplement, maintain and upgrade the physical park, amenities and the programming and events that take place there. We envision the Von King Park Conservancy to be the best run park of its size in New York by closely following the example and direction of the Central Park Conservancy which is internationally known as the best run urban park in the world and also by extensively using the resources and guidance of the Partnership for Parks organization along with a large number of other resources that are readily available to those that want to be stewards to green space.
Von King Park deserves to be an exceptional park for community residents and a destination for the world to enjoy if they are in town. As has been the case for many concerned citizens before us, we saw a need to do something with our neglected jewel and so we are wholeheartedly taking up the mantle of park stewardship. We will take full advantage of all of the resources, advice and technical assistance we can find to make the best Von King Park possible. Fortunatly for us many exceptional examples of park perfection are right in our midst and the stewards of those parks are willing to impart their knowledge, experiences and time to our noble cause. |
